Another Show Well Done

Fly Tying ExpoWe in the GLC want to extend our congratulations to the Michigan Fly Fishing Club, on their having thrown another wonderful party that they named "Midwest Fly Fishing Expo 2008," and invited us all to attend. Everybody's looking forward to next year's event, so the organizers can relax for now, and be assured that we'll be back.

RCFF Offers Flyfishing Course in Okemos

The Red Cedar Fly Fishers will be offering an introductory flyfishing course, taught by Brian Bielecki, owner of Nomad Anglers (www.nomadanglers.com), this May. As you know, flyfishing is one of the most popular sports in America - with both men and women! This introduction to flyfishing includes basic tackle, casting instruction, pointers on how, where, and when to fish for both warm and cold water fish. No prior experience or equipment necessary.

The classes are taught Mondays and Wednesdays 7-9 p.m., beginning Monday, 12 May, and ending on Wednesday, 21 May, in room C-101 in Chippewa Middle School in Okemos. The cost for all four sessions is $35.00 per registrant. Further information, and registration materials are available at www.okemosonline.com, by following the links to 'adult rec,' then 'adult fitness and recreation,' and finally ARC-110 in the listing.

The GLC works to preserve fly fishing, expand fly fishing opportunities, teach the sport and help conserve fish resources. They host fly fishing schools, outings and fly tying expos.
